RECORDINGS

WHITE FLOWERS (Segell Microscopi, 2018)

"White Flowers" is the debut album of the catalan singer-songwriter Gessamí Boada. It shines with eleven original songs that flow between pop and jazz with lyrics mostly in English, but also in Catalan and Spanish. Intimate melodic songs that talk about the human condition, love and nature. Gessami's virtuous singing is accompanied by the playing of Kquimi Saigi  (producer and keys), Bernat Guàrdia (bass), Pau Figueres (guitars) and Pep Terricabras (drums). It includes two duets: one with the also catalan songwriter Judit Neddermann (“T'enviaré”) and one with the german Léon Rudolf (“Angel's Lullaby”). It was recorded in Barcelona and València: Art 59, Microcosmos estudi, BSO i CutRecords (2016 i 2017).

DUST IN THE SKY (Segell Microscopi, 2020)

The Catalan singer-songwriter Gessamí Boada temporarily halts the production of her upcoming second album (fall 2020), to present this beautiful tune with only vocals and piano, that has been written and recorded during the confinement. It talks about solidarity and empathy, some of the most important values in these hard times. But mostly, it aims at paying homage to the victims of Covid-19 and accompanying their families and friends.  “Dust in the Sky” is an emotional trip that leads to accepting the fact that we are nothing but dust in the sky.

ON COMENÇO JO (Segell Microscopi, 2020)

“On començo jo” (“Where I begin”) is the title of the second album by Gessamí Boada, a singersongwriter of exquisite taste and extraordinary vocal qualities. She still employs the three languages she feels closest to: Catalan, her mother tongue, Spanish and English. This time, she no longer uses jazz as her way of expression as she did in her debut album “White Flowers” (2018)”. She gets closer to pop music with some electronic and indie elements. Alongside the pianist and producer Kquimi Saigi, she has co-produced 11 new songs with a unique musical style. There's collaborations of the singers Elena Gadel, Henrio and Alessio Arena.

SILENCI (Segell Microscopi, 2021)

Doble single in Catalan: “Silenci” (Silence). It includes two songs with videos: “Silenci, queda't amb mi” and “Em rendeixo a tu”. Pau Figueres plays guitars in these two songs that talk about death and, as hard as it is, its acceptance as part of life.

L'ART D'ESTIMAR (Satélite K, 2022)

“L'art d'estimar” ("The Art of Loving") is the new album by the Catalan singersongwriter Gessamí Boada. Nine new songs that talk about love, breakup and grief. The title comes from the book by the German philosopher Erich Fromm. It has been co-produced with Arnau Figueres and Kquimi Saigi. A minimalist album that shows Gessamí's vulnerable and mature voice.
